1 in 2 People Will Develop Cancer in Their Lifetime
Half of the UK population born after 1960 will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Currently, almost half of those people are diagnosed after the cancer has spread. Finding cancer early, before you have symptoms can significantly improve your chances of survival.
Blood Sample
Many cancers are without a current screening process for early detection. Some cancers cause no symptoms until they have spread throughout the body.
Trucheck is a simple revolutionary blood test which can help you find cancer early, before you show symptoms. It also looks for multiple cancers, many of which are not covered in routine screening and is proven to help avoid late cancer detection where treatments are often aggressive and in many cases incurable.
When cancer is present in the body, it sheds tiny cells and tumour fragments into the bloodstream, called circulation tumour cells (CTC’s). these cells are the main reason cancer eventually spreads in the body, especially if they move in clusters (a group). TruCheck can detect them from your blood sample and indicate the likely organ of origin. Our doctors can the refer you directly to specialists if detected to carry out targeted follow up investigations and treatments if necessary.
As soon as you book your test one of our doctors will reach out to organise a date and time suits you to have your pre test consultation in order to understand your past medical history and reason for having the test. If for whatever reason your doctors thinks you are not suitable for the test then we will issue you a full refund immediately.
We will the organise the TruCheck test kit to be sent to your delivery address along with all of the paperwork which includes signed authorisation forms from one of our doctors who will prescribe the test specifically for you. The kit contains all the equipment necessary for your phlebotomist to complete your sample.
When you book your test one of our account managers will send you a link where you can book to have your blood sample taken in over 150 clinics nationwide. Simply take your test kit to your appointment and have a healthcare professional take your blood for you. You can then post the sample directly to our labs using an included prepaid Royal Mail label.
Due to the complexity of this test your sample results will be available 12 working days from when our labs receive your sample. You will receive your results through a secure link via email and your doctor will then reach out to arrange a date and time to discuss your results. If any untoward results are detected then we have robust expedited pathways for quick private or NHS referral for further investigation.
Your questions answered
A positive result means that CTCs have been found in your blood. The test results will indicate the location for the select type of cancers with high accuracy, and in other cancers the tissue of origin can be identified with reasonable accuracy. This means we can tell you where the cancer started developing in your body.
Our doctors will contact you as soon as your results are back to discuss them in detail and advise you on what the next appropriate steps would be. We will guide you every step of the way in ensuring that you get the right follow up care as quickly as possible.
We have developed robust referral pathways which enable you to get quick access to further diagnostic imaging and investigation. This includes several partnerships with private healthcare providers such as InHealth where we can arrange further private diagnostic investigation and imaging within as little as 24 hours. Far quicker than NHS referral pathways where investigation can weeks or in some cases month. We can of course provide referral through the NHS care pathways if desired. We will discuss all your options in depth during your results consultation.
A negative result means that at the time of the test there were no detectable cancer cells for the cancers included within the test, circulating in your blood. It does not mean that you will never develop cancer. For any cancers not covered by the test, no inference should be drawn from a negative result.
We have certain clinical requirements that you must fulfil in order to be eligible to take this test. These will be checked during a pre-consultation call with our Doctor.
To take this test you must:
As this early cancer screening test is non-invasive, there is no disadvantage to frequent testing. However, we advise that this test should be performed every 12 months in the case of each negative result. We highly recommend that you add this test to one of our health check packages for a comprehensive overall health and cancer risk assessment.
